In continuation of advancing the impact of International Human Rights Commission across the globe, the Special Monitoring Mission International Human Rights Commission (SMM IHRC) in the North Central of Sri-Lanka Province implemented a one-day “Free Eye Clinic and Ophthalmology Counseling Treatment" Programme.
The event which took place on 20th November 2021 was aimed to provide clinical treatments and special counsels to the people in the rural areas of the North Central Province of Sri-Lanka.
According to S. Babudharan the National Volunteer Coordinator SMM IHRC, affirmed that Nearly 102 people from three villages in the Province benefitted from the programme. “Among which 36 people were advised to consult doctor for the operation and some clinical advices has been given for the certain disorders too. 48 people advised to use spectacles", he added.
So far, over 18 people after the treatment do not need to seek medical advices from the doctor or use any spectacles as counselled by the Specialists during the programme.
SMM IHRC members in North Central Province of Sri-Lanka turned up en-mass to contribute immensely to the success of the event.
